Hillard S. Fowler, the son of Hampton and Amanda Fowler, born about 1875, married Miss Bessie Warren and they became the parents of five children. They lived just outside the village on the Glendale/Clifton road. “Hill” as he was known and called, was a fine man, honest, kind and compassionate. He was the card room assistant overseer for a number of years. He was appreciated by all who had the privilege of knowing him. This writer came to know him as a real Christian man, a member of the Glendale Baptist Church who served his church well as a Deacon and active member of the Men’s Bible Class.
